June Ad Review: Advanced Insights for Facebook + Instagram Ads & Google Ads!

Facebook Ads: Advantage+ Takes the Lead

June has been an interesting month for Facebook Ads. We've seen a slight drop in ad spend of -2.5% month-over-month (MoM), with Advantage+ becoming the go-to for ecommerce brands, accounting for a whopping 76% of total ad spend. 

This shows the growing trust and reliance on Advantage+ for driving results.

The Cost per Purchase (CPP) has seen a slight increase of +5.1% MoM, but don't let that deter you. The Return on Ad Spend (ROAS) has also increased a tad by +1.1%, indicating a positive return on the increased investment.

  • The key takeaway here is the growing dominance of Advantage+. With its proven performance, it's time to consider if you're leveraging it to its full potential.

Google Ads: Search Campaigns Shine

Google Ads has shown a steady increase in ad spend, up by 3.7% MoM. 

Performance Max (PMAX) and Search campaigns have been the main drivers, accounting for 41% and 24% of the spend respectively.

Interestingly, Shopping campaigns accounted for only 11% of ad spend… 

While Search campaigns outperformed everyone else with a 6.45x ROAS, which is 57% better than the average. 

  • This demonstrates the power of well-optimized Search campaigns in driving returns.

What Does This All Mean?

In simple terms, the data suggests that marketers are finding consistent value in both Facebook and Google's ad platforms. 

However, the shift towards Advantage+ on Facebook and Search campaigns on Google indicates a need for strategic focus on these areas.

TL;DR – Advanced Strategies to Execute in July

  1. Leverage Advantage+: With Advantage+ accounting for 98% of ad spend on Facebook, it's clear where the value lies. If you're not already using it, now is the time.
  2. Focus on Search Campaigns: Google Search campaigns have shown impressive ROAS. Prioritize and optimize these campaigns to maximize your returns.
  3. Monitor Your Metrics: Keep a close eye on your metrics, especially CPM, as spikes can indicate increased competition. Use these insights to adjust your strategies as needed.
